Ice,Ice,Baby!

Hey Guys,

Well, the festive season is well under way, and this week I decided to visit somewhere that is a little bit chilly. Kilkenny-on-ice is the south east's biggest indoor ice rink, and it's here until the 9th of January!

You get 50 minutes on the ice and while you have a skate and try not to take a tumble, there is some chart music and some festive music being played. If you're tired from all that skating or want to pass some time while the kids enjoy the ice, there is an "ice cafe" serving tea, coffee, hot chocolate and some light snacks.

Kilkenny on ice is well worth the visit and I suggest getting a group of friends and family to go, so you can all enjoy the experience. If you are worried about safety on the ice, don't be. There is a trained first aid person there at all times, helmets are  available but not necesary and all skating is supervised by trained marshals.

For prices, opening times etc. visit http://www.kilkennyonice.com/.

We had  BRRRRRilliant time and we managed not to fall, do you think you could? Go on, get your skates on! :)

Oh, and Happy Christmas! :)

It has every clothes shop you could want, as well as House of  Fraser and the amazing Hamley's toy store. You are sure to find everything you need under the one roof if you visit Dundrum Town Centre.

We went up early in the day and visited Dundrum on Ice in Pembroke Square. Prices are from €14.50 for adults, €13.50 for a child and €45 for a family.

For families looking for the ultimate Christmas experience there is also Santa’s Steam Train which goes down the Mall and onto Town Square over the festive period!  The Steam Train departs regularly throughout the day from Level 1, outside House of Fraser.

You can visit Santa in the Centre and costs just €10, and includes a photo and a special gift.

Our adventure to THE SANTA TRAIN @ Rathwood Home, Gift and Garden World!...

Hi guys...
So this week I visited the Rathwood Home, Gift and Garden World just outside Tullow in Co. Carlow. Rathwood is an upmarket garden centre with a fabulous restaurant!. And during the month of November and December they run an amazing SANTA TRAIN!. The train is almost fuly booked since September but there are limited spaces still available and I were lucky enough to get to go!.
Firstly I was greeted by a Check-in elf...They gave me my tickets. Then we were brought into Mrs. Claus!. She read a wonderful story and we got some magis raindeer seed!. The train then brought us down to the woods!. We walked through the woods and arrived at Santa's cabin. This was truely magical. There was an elf there to entertain us the whole time. Then we met Santa and got wonderful gifts. The train then brought us back up to the Garden Centre.
It is reasonably priced at €15 for children and €6 for adults.
I would highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for a very magical Christmas experience!

Our First Irish Adventure is in Co.Kilkenny

Hey Guys!
For our first blog post we have decided to start with a place that's a little close to home. We found many things to do and places to see in Co.Kilkenny but we decided to tell you about a small village called Gowran. Gowran is home to quite a few attractions, the ruins of the church and fountain area, Gowran racecourse , the pitch and putt, and cafes like Teach Mhuire but what really caught our eye was something a little bit different.
Reptile Village Zoo is home to over 120 animals and 50 different species. When you arrive at Reptile Village you get to look around on your own and discover the place. After you've seen the American Alligators, Monocled Cobras, Geckos and Boas and much more, we get to the best part; we get to handle some of the animals. The staff take out Boa Constrictors, Bearded Dragons and even Snapping Turtles! The few hours you spend at Reptile Village are surely memorable if nothing else. So go on, face your fears, and take your own adventure to Co.Kilkenny :)

Ps,
Stay tuned to our blog, as each week we discover Ireland and bring you all our favourite places!
